Continuing with the Titanic theme...these images show the Reciprocating engines - her main engines. As built, they were massive Four Cylinder beasts, but during the break-up, both engines lost their forward Low Pressure Cylinders, which have since been located in the debris field. The engines, remarkably, remained attached to the ship, upright and largely intact apart from the lost cylinders, though as can be seen in some of the images, the portside High Pressure Cylinder caved in on itself. I don't know if this damage was caused by water pressure or by the decks which collapsed down onto the engines (parts of B.C and D decks I think). To give an idea of the scale of these engines - on the model that is - they are each about the size of a 20 pack of cigarettes. As with the first batch of Images....sorry for the dodgy quality of some of them :-(
