Titanic Wreck, Stern Section (Circa 1986) Machinery Detail 02 - Low Pressure Turbine.

These images show the Titanic's Low Pressure Turbine engine. This engine drove the central propellor, the smallest of Titanic's 3 props. Unlike the Reciprocating engines, which are fairly accessible to ROV's, the Turbine engine room has proven to be largely inaccessible. As a result, this part of the model is mostly speculative. I was able to find photographic reference of the Turbine for Titanic's sister ship - Britannic - it was identical to Titanic's turbine - under construction but nothing which gave a clear indication, to me at any rate, of how the fully assembled engine looked. So - while I have tried to be as accurate with this engine and engine room as possible, it is likely that there are plenty of errors.
